STITCH-ALONG - SAMPLER GROUP

Monday, July 5 (normally the first Monday of the month.)
Join this no-fee group ... no requirement to come to a class, making it easier for your busy schedule.
Join us while we sample different stitches, different types of motifs, different fabrics and threads through our work on samplers selected by you.
Fee: Again, there is no fee. The only expenses are related to your sampler and your supplies.

KNITTING - CHRISTMAS IN JULY - MAKE IT/TAKE IT

Purpose: These sessions are designed so that you can reach your goal of finishing projects for holiday gift giving ahead of time, inexpensively ... AND relieve some of the holiday stress.
* Session 1 - Pattern Darning (Kit provided)
Learn the technique while completing a bookmark. See how it can be used to enhance kitchen towels, bath towel sets, and more.
* Session 2 - Knitted Wrapped Scarf
Learn how to add a lacey effect when knitting a simple scarf. It is easier than you think ... and looks great!
* Session 3 - Huck Weaving (Kit provided)
Learn the technique while completing a bookmark that can include a monogram. See how it can be used to enhance kitchen towels, bath towel sets, and more.
* Session 4 - Crocheted Mug Rug (Kit provided)
Learn this crochet technique while completing a mug rug (or coaster.) Ideal technique for making hot pads too.
Sign up for one ... sign up for them all!
Experience Level: Beginner level except for the Wrapped Scarf and the Mug Rug. For the scarf, need to know how to cast-on, knit, purl and bind off. For the mug rug, need to know how to chain and make a single crochet.
Bring:
* Pencil and paper for notetaking.
* For Wrapped Scarf, bring a skein of bulky yarn ... good color selection available at Village Needlework. Also, Size 13 (or larger) knitting needles.
* For Mug Rug, bring a crochet hook Size G or H (also available at Village Needlework.)

KNITTING - MADE TO ORDER (Einstein Coat)

Purpose: Learn to measure and adjust a pattern to fit you (or another!) by completing an Einstein Coat, as shown in the Book 1: The Knit Stitch.
Experience Level: Intermediate
Description: The mechanics of the class and supply requirements will be presented, and questions answered, at the preliminary meeting -- including project timing and costs.
There is no fee for the Preliminary meeting, but registration is required.

KNITTING - SOCKS ... MANY WAYS TO SAME CONCLUSION

Purpose: Double points, two circulars or one magic loop -- toe-up or cuff-down. There are many ways to approach a sock. During this on-going, pay-as-you-learn class we will learn a different part of the sock each week.

WHITE CHRISTMAS SAMPLER -- *CLASS IS FULL*

Meets: Monthly, January through December, 2009
Instructor: Robin Rossignol
Take the opportunity to complete this sampler by taking it in easy bites ... a little each month ... with an experienced stitcher and teacher leading you through the various parts of the sampler.
The sampler has a stitch count 96w x 208h and incorporates over 20 different stitches and techniques. The color? You decide whether you prefer the tone-on-tone shown in the photo or want to venture into other color schemes. Your choice!
Fee: $30 per quarter.
Class Supplies: Estimated at $40 for book, fabrics and threads.

KNITTING - FAIR ISLE

Purpose Fair Isle knitting has a long history. It is a beautiful way to use color in your knitting and it is not as difficult as it looks. We will start with the history then knit a small sampler, move on to a pillow cover and cover the basics for knitting a sweater, including the ability to pick and throw, steeks, as well reading a pattern and/or charts.
Skill Level: Beyond basic knitting skills required.
