BOBBIN LACE - INTRODUCTION TO

October 13 (2nd of 4 sessions)
Purpose: Handmade lace is becoming popular once again. Bobbin Lace, probably a term you recognize, is one such type of lace. If you ever wondered how to make sense of all those bobbins, here is your chance! It may look confusing but it can be very simple.
You will learn the basic stitches to create a stitch sampler and 2 bookmark designs. Techniques include: cloth stitch, whole stitch, half stitch, Torchon ground, sewing edge, spider motif and how to begin and end a bookmark.
Class will meet weekly for 4 weeks, 2 hours per week.Try your hand at this heirloom technique. We will be creating distinctive bookmarks as we learn the basics.
4, 2-hour sessions --- 9 to 11 AM
Fee: $50 (plus supplies)
Supplies: $40 (complete supplies including pillow and bobbins)
Note: Some of you may have a bobbin lace pillow and possibly bobbins. If so, the supply cost is less. Please contact Rose Mary for specifics.
